On to Life Program

On to Life (OTL), as the name suggests is an initiative taken up by PYDS to support the higher studies of the beneficiaries. The program is organized in such a manner that no deserving student misses college education due to scarcity of funds. Till date, out of 431 alumni, 170 have availed the On To Life support.

This OTL experiment, dating back to 2010 with the support provided to one student (son of a salesman) for pursuing Engineering in computers has shown motivating results. Owing to his hard work and the support, the boy is now working happily in the United States.

As an institution, over the years, we grew steadily in this front and currently support 20-25 students yearly. Our donors have stretched their support to all our programs and it would not do justice to not mention the names of our Partner Universities who have always let open their gates for PYDS students and have supported them in every challenging phase of their lives.

Earlier, making a visit to the PYDS campus in their smart & tidy college uniforms a few years ago, for their college fee requests and submitting progress reports from their graduation, some of these students are now the proud donors of PYDS. Once the beneficiaries, they now sit back and see everything from the other side. They are the ignitors to bring in the change in their families and community as a whole.

All thanks to the support from people from around the world that this transition happened. We are committed to move on this path and work towards adequate employability of all our beneficiaries. The main contribution done by our esteemed donor under this initiative is as transparent as it gets.

The donor sponsors the higher education of the school pass-out. The tuition fee, hostel fees and any other charges, if provided by the college in which the student is getting admission in. Moreover, we do not just send the quotations to our donors that we receive from the colleges but we strive our best to request concession in the fees and any other monetary obligation involved in the admission. Post negotiation with the colleges, we inform our interested donors of the commitment expected from them for the education of the student.

Patronship Initiative

Through our Patronship scheme, a student (mentee) is assigned to a donor (patron). Patrons of a child mentor their wards. We share the detailed profile of the student to help the patron understand the background of the student. Periodical progress reports about the performance of the child, both academic and co-scholastic are also reported 3 times a year. Student often write personalized greetings to his/her mentor on New Year, Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas, etc. Should you so wish, we are happy to have you write letters to your mentee at the Society’s email address.

The average annual cost of a child is $1,600. However for the convenience of donors,   the Patronship is further categorized in three options. A donor might choose one of the below options to contribute for specific expenses of a child’s education at PYDS.

Perfect Patronship - $1,460

It covers expenses related to tutorship, nutrition, healthcare, school transport, learning support, school uniforms, support networks, laboratories, yoga, sports, field visits, and a child.

Platinum Patronship - $730

It covers expenses related to tutorship, school transport, uniforms, learning support, yoga, sports, laboratories, and counselling of a child.

Privileged Patronship - $385

It covers expenses related to tutorship and school uniforms for a child.
